Description

The Smith monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Teffont Evias. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a plain inscription panel on the south side and has a cavetto-moulded flat top. At the time of the survey in March 1985, the monument was noted to be badly weathered. It commemorates Oliver Smith, who died in 1698.
