Description
The folly to the rear of Teffont Manor is a water tower designed to resemble a decorative structure, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone, while the attached outbuilding features a corrugated asbestos roof. The tower consists of five stages, each with double-chamfered pointed lancets, a hollow-moulded string course at the upper stage, a corbel table, and a battlemented parapet. The single-storey outbuilding on the right has five chamfered elliptical-arched doorways with planked doors and five pointed lancets. The interior has not been inspected. This structure was built by John Mayne during his construction projects in the 1820s.
