Description

8 and 10 Wood Lane are a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. They date from the mid-18th century and were restored in the 20th century. The building is constructed of squared limestone rubble with freestone quoins and dressings, topped with a double-Roman tile roof featuring brick stacks at the gable ends. Each original cottage has a one-unit plan, with some 20th-century additions.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The stone-mullioned windows are two-light and have cyma moulding, with 20th-century glazing. To the right, there is a 20th-century door located under a hood supported by brackets, while the door on the left has been blocked. The interior has not been inspected.
