Description
Hopcroft Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one, dating from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with some stones roughly squared, and features a thatched roof. It has a two-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic. There are integral brick end stacks, which have been rebuilt in the 20th century.
The front of the cottage has two eyebrow semi-dormers, each containing 2-light small-paned casements. The façade has two windows, which are fixed small-paned windows with wooden cills. An off-centre, two-leaf boarded door is located between the windows, with a blocked door to its right, indicated by straight joints and a wooden lintel. To the right, there is an addition that is also one storey high with an attic, featuring a stone slate roof. This addition includes a gabled semi-dormer with a 2-light small-paned casement and a ground floor 20th-century small-paned wooden casement with a wooden lintel.
