Description
This outbuilding, located immediately to the north-west of the Tithe Barn at Barton Farm, is likely from the 14th century, though it may have been built later. It has been significantly altered over time and is a single-storey structure made of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins. The roof is modern and covered with pantiles, featuring stone gable-ends that have cappings and saddle-stones. There is a square-headed opening in the east gable wall with a timber lintel, and various windows are present on the north side. The building has a plain queen-post roof, which is probably from the 19th century. This outbuilding is included in the listing for its group value with other listed buildings in Pound Lane.
