5/107 Barn and Horse Gin, 80m north-north- east of Chilton Park Farmhouse

Barn and gin house, early C18 and Cl9. Barn timber framed with weatherboarding and thatched roof, and attached horse gin house on north side, framed and vertical split log cladding, also thatched. Further building attached to gable of barn, framed on brick sill, weatherboarded and with tiled roof. Barn of 5 bays with aisles. Jowelled posts with reverse curved braces to ties and arcade plates. Ties with struts to double purlin roof. Thatch swept up over high doors to north, doors below outer wall plate to south. Roof hipped over end bays. Engine house has open part-hexagonal end and socket for top bearing of gin spindle.
