Description
The barn and horse gin, located north of Tickhill House, date from around 1800 and the mid-19th century, respectively. The barn is constructed of dressed sandstone and features clay pantile roofs with stone ridge and gable copings and block kneelers. On the south face of the barn, there are two boarded doors and one fixed-light window with glazing bars on the ground floor. The first floor has three boarded doors in square openings for the granary. The horse gin has a rectangular plan with openings on the north and east sides, a doorway on the east face, and a hipped roof, although the machinery has been removed. A lower extension at the west end of the barn has been altered too much to be of special interest, and the stables adjoining the east end of the barn are also not of special interest. This building is included for its group value.
