Description
This building is a barn and horse gin located about 35 metres south-east of Hardwick Court. It dates from the early 19th century and has some 20th-century alterations. The structure is made of rubble with a corrugated asbestos roof and consists of six roof bays. The northern bay is separated by a rubble wall, and the central area features a threshing floor that is flanked by the other five bays. The west front has two large cart entries leading to the northern bay and the threshing floor, both with segmental heads. The south gable includes six rows of ventilation slits, a loft door with a semi-circular head, and a circular owl hole above. The horse gin is situated in the south-west corner and is built on a square plan with the north-west corner angled, topped with a hipped roof.
