Description
Hardwick House is a pair of houses built in the early 18th century and modified in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of rubble with a stone slate roof and features a T-plan layout, with the cross-wing added in the mid-19th century. It has three stacks: one located in the middle of the stem of the T and the other two near the junction on the ridge. The building is one storey high, with an attic that is lit by four gabled dormers on the left side and a 2-light casement window in the gable on the right. On the ground floor, there are three 2-light casement windows with segmental heads to the left of a rustic canopy that covers a square bay window and entrance. To the right of this is a fixed casement window with a flat lintel. The cross-wing on the right has a gabled design with imitation timber-frame detailing on the first floor, which slightly jetties over a shallow square bay window with four lights.
