Description

The Tanner Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 4 metres south-west of the south porch of the Church of St John Baptist. It was created in 1837 and is made of limestone. The monument features Roman Doric columns at the corners and has two circular inscription panels on the north side, adorned with an urn and swags in the spandrels. The lettering is incised in both Roman and italic styles and is painted black. The top of the tomb has a coved slab.
