Description
The Tanner Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 6 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It was built in 1823 and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded table and base, with panelled sides and ends. It is enclosed by wrought iron railings that have javelin heads and urns at the corners. The monument commemorates Frances Tanner, who died in 1823, and Jane Tanner, who died in 1840. There is also a commemorative tablet for them inside the church.
