Description

Winterbourne Gunner Mill is an early 19th-century house and mill located on the east side of the A338 in Winterbourne. The building is constructed of brick and features slate roofs. The house has two storeys and originally consists of two bays, with an additional rendered bay extending to the left. There is an entrance to the yard on the south side, which is adorned with a Tuscan portico that includes a six-panelled door and a fanlight. The windows are sixteen-paned sashes set within openings that have cambered heads. The roof is hipped and has a brick stack positioned centrally over the original two bays.

Attached to the rear of the house is the mill, which is also two storeys tall and consists of three bays. The mill was heightened in the later 19th century, featuring raised gables to create an attic space. It has six-paned top hung windows and a loading door on the first floor. Additionally, there is a stone sundial mounted on the wall.
