Description

SO 24 NE CLIFFORD CP

2/52 Tanner memorial about 10 metres east of chancel of Church of St Mary

GV II

Chest tomb. Late C18/early C19. Ashlar. Rectangular inscription panels framed by returns of ends which are incised to represent small ashlar blocks, moulded cornice, flat top. Inscriptions almost completely illegible on north side and on top, but surname Tanner distinguishable. This is a good example of stone masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it con- tributes to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
