Description
Nos 54 and 55 on Northgate Street are 17th-century buildings that have been altered. They stand three storeys tall, with the upper part featuring tile hanging and scallop tiles on a timber frame, including a second-floor overhang supported by boxed beam ends. The second floor has two two-light casement windows, while the first floor contains two sash windows with later glazing bars set in moulded frames. The ground floor features two mid-19th-century shop fronts with moulded window frames and incised strips flanking the door of No 54, topped by a boxed cornice. Nos 46 to 54 form a group.
