Description
Nos 11 and 13 on High Street are a 16th-century building that was altered in the 18th century. This three-storey structure with an attic features a timber frame and tile-hung upper part, which has an oversailing second floor above modern ground floor shops that sit under a tile pent roof. The front is irregular, showcasing a large half-hipped gable and one attic easement. There are two casement windows on the second floor. On the first floor, to the left, there is an angular bay window topped with an ogee lead roof, and to the right, a two-light casement window, both adorned with a frieze and cornice. The frieze above the bay window is decorated with diamond ornament, and this detail continues across the front under the overhang. To the left, there is a three-storey extension of similar character, also tile-hung, featuring one 18th-century sash window. Inside, there is a contemporary panelled room on the first floor with an enriched plaster ceiling. Nos 11 to 17 (odd) form a group.
