Description

No. 18 High Street is a late 17th century or early 18th century house with a three-storey brick front that aligns with the front elevations of Nos. 14 and 16. It features a band cornice and a parapet, with English bond brickwork on both the front and rear. The second floor has two sash windows, each with flat stucco keystone arches. The first floor has an altered tripartite window that includes an entablature and a segmental thin pediment over the central light. The building has a modern shop front, while the first-floor room at the rear retains some 18th-century panelling and has a staircase leading to the second floor, although the baluster has been removed. The rear elevation is parapeted and includes a flat band on the first floor. The roof is supported by a collar truss.
