Description
The Butts is a detached house built around 1830. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a hipped Welsh slate roof with brick stacks. The house is two stories tall and has a five-window front facing north. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight, flanked by two four-pane sash windows. The first floor also has five four-pane sash windows. There is a 20th-century attic dormer.
On the right side of the house, there are two French windows and casement windows on the first floor. The left side, which faces the garden, includes an attached conservatory, French windows, and sash windows. At the rear, there is a single-storey extension with a hipped roof, a 20th-century flat-roofed extension to the right, and three twelve-pane sash windows, along with one 20th-century sixteen-pane sash and a blocked window on the first floor. The interior was not accessible during the survey in May 1986, but it is reported to retain original features such as fireplaces and joinery.
