Description

Three cottages, now combined into a house and surgery, were built in the early to mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a slate roof. They are two storeys high, originally with each cottage consisting of one bay and two rooms deep, incorporating a lateral door and passage. A half-glazed door, protected by a lead-swept canopy on a lattice wood porch, now provides access to the central cottage only. The windows are sixteen-pane sashes, with one late 19th-century replacement featuring plate glass. All windows have finely gauged brick flat lintels. Tall chimney stacks are situated on the party walls between the cottages. The elevation to the left has been altered with the addition of a canted bay, and a single-storey rear extension constructed in a "rat-trap" bond brick pattern has been raised to two storeys, with a corresponding extension of the roof.
