Description
Nos. 5 and 6 High Street are two houses built in a row, dating from the 18th century and likely incorporating some 17th-century elements. The exterior is pebbledashed, with No. 5 featuring a tiled roof and No. 6 having a thatched roof. Both houses are two storeys tall; No. 5 has two bays, with the left bay being a rebuild from the mid-18th century that uses architectural details similar to those of the nearby Antelope Inn. It has a four-panelled door with a bracketed canopy above. The windows are paired, framed in stone, and feature keystones within a segmental architrave and cornice above. The left bay of No. 5 has raised quoins, and the door is located in the lower part opposite the stack. No. 6 consists of one bay with a lateral entrance, featuring a boarded door set in an 18th-century frame with a bracketed canopy. The first floor has sliding sash windows, and there are various brick stacks present.
