Description

Pertwood Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and an extension added in the 1960s. The building is constructed of rendered brick, featuring chamfered stone quoins and dressings, and has a tiled roof made of beaver tail tiles with coped verges and stone and brick stacks.

The farmhouse consists of two parallel ranges, with a central entrance located to the right of the stack. The east front is two-storey and has four windows. The entrance features double half-glazed doors flanked by two 16-pane sash windows, all set in recessed chamfered surrounds with hoodmoulds. On the first floor, there are two 12-pane sashes and two 16-pane sashes, also in recessed chamfered surrounds with hoodmoulds. The coped verges are well-crafted, with the left verge topped by a small finial.

To the right of the main structure is a two-storey addition from the 1960s, designed in a similar style, along with a single-storey range from the 19th century that has casement windows. At the rear, there is a central 19th-century gabled stone porch featuring a Tudor-arched doorway, an ogee hoodmould with a finial, and a recessed chamfered 12-pane sash, with 20th-century casements on either side. The first floor has three sashes in recessed chamfered surrounds and one 20th-century casement. The interior was not accessible during the survey in August 1986, but it is reported to contain 19th or 20th-century fittings.
