Description
Upper Moorend Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1730, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof with end stacks. The building has a square plan, with a rear three-bay range oriented east to west and three adjoining gabled wings on the north front. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has three-course bands between the storeys.
The north front elevation consists of three bays, with all windows being cross-casements that have cambered heads. The outer bays on both the ground and first floors have smaller windows inserted into the original openings. The main entrance is located to the right of the centre and features a 20th-century lean-to porch with a cross-casement window at the front and a 20th-century door on the left side. The outer wings have large lean-to additions with catslide roofs, each featuring a three-light casement window with a cambered head on their north front elevation. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to retain an open well staircase.
