Description

The Townsend Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 4 metres south of the chancel of the Church of the Assumption. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features two recessed moulded panels and pilasters on the main sides, with a cavetto-moulded flat top. It commemorates Elizabeth Townsend, who died in 1712.
