Description

These are a pair of semi-detached cottages located in Longbridge Deverill. They were built in the late 17th century. The cottages are timber-framed with brick nogging, and have a half-hipped thatched roof and brick stacks. The gable end faces the road.

The cottages are single-storey with an attic, and feature two windows on each side. They have casement windows. The front of No. 33 has a planked door, while the right side has a two-light casement window, and the left side has two 20th-century two-light casements and one 3-light casement. There are two eyebrow dormers, each with a two-light casement.

The right return of the cottages has been rebuilt in brick and includes a blocked doorway, along with a two-light casement and a late 19th-century sash window on the first floor. The rear of the cottages has a large gabled lateral stack and a lean-to extension with a shingled roof and casement windows. Inside, the cottages feature chamfered beams with run-out stops, a large open fireplace, and a bread oven under a timber lintel with stone jambs.
