Description
Old Church Farmhouse is a detached house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of painted rubble stone with a tiled roof that has a half hip on the right side and features brick stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and is two storeys high with four windows, all of which are casements. There is a planked door with a gabled canopy located to the left of the centre, flanked by two 2-light casements on either side. The first floor also has four 2-light casements.
To the left of the main house, there is an early 19th-century parallel range that includes 2-light casements and a hipped roof. At the rear, there is a second parallel range with 2-light casements and a half-hipped roof. Attached at right angles to this is a late 18th-century wing, which features pairs of 18-pane sashes set in ashlar cases on the ashlar-faced south side, complete with a plat band and chamfered rusticated quoins. The gable end of this wing has 12-pane sashes in ashlar cases. The rear of the main range includes a glazed door and a 4-panelled door within a porch, along with additional 2-light casements. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in June 1985.
