Description
The Townsend monument is an early 19th-century chest tomb located about 9 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. Bartholomew in Corsham. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features two plaques on each side, separated by a floral drop design. The corners of the tomb are adorned with baluster vases, and it has a moulded base and cornice with a fluted frieze. The monument bears an inscription commemorating Susanna Townsend, who died in 1806.
