Description
The Milsom monument is a chest tomb located at the north-east corner of the churchyard of the Church of St. Bartholomew, dating from the later 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features two octagonal plaques on the south side, adorned with cherub heads in the upper spandrels, baluster corners, and balusters in relief along the inner edge of each plaque, with a floral drop in the center. The north side displays two rectangular panels with a floral drop in the center of a recessed strip and baluster corners. The monument has a moulded base and cornice, with a fluted frieze that is broken forward at the center and angles. It bears an inscription dedicated to Mary Milsom, who died in 1788.
