HAWLING HAWLING VILLAGE Townsend monument, in the churchyard, about 2.5m south of south-east corner of chancel, Church of St Edward

GV II

Chest tomb. 1701. Stone. Thick, flat lid, moulded edge. North side, moulding around each panel, wide, centre panel for inscription, each side panels with flowers, plain, narrow end panels. South side plain, but with moulding round central section. Ends plain with moulded edge: bronze plaque recording all inscriptions added to end. Commemorates Richard and Mary, children of George Townsend.
