Description
Nos 2 and 3 Albion Place are early 19th-century houses located on Sidmouth Street. They are two storeys high and constructed from Bath stone. The ground floor features an arched stone verandah that spans across both houses, supported by thin stone piers with block caps. The verandah has three wide segmental arches in front of each house, with additional coupled piers and narrow semi-circular arches between them, arranged in groups of three at the centre and one at each end. The right-hand end has been partly cut away to create a side entrance. Each house has three French casements with narrow side glazing on the first floor. The ground floor originally had two windows and a central six-panel door with a small rectangular fanlight, but these have been replaced by modern shop fronts. No 3 retains pointed arched and rosetted railings above the verandah, which have been removed from No 2. The houses are set back from the street and form a symmetrical pair, contributing to a small terrace. They are part of a group that includes Nos 23 to 28 and Nos 1 to 3 Albion Place, as well as No 29.
