Description
No 2 Sidmouth Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick. The first and second floors feature painted stone sill courses, with the second-floor sill course interrupted by windows, except for one false window. The building has a shallow moulded cornice adorned with brick header dentils and a stone blocking course. There are four windows on the upper floors, which are recessed sashes with intact glazing bars and flat rubbed brick arches. The ground floor has a full-width mid-19th-century shop front, although the glazing has been altered. Flanking the shop front are panelled pilasters, with triglyphs in the necking and projecting square caps, along with a dentil band and carved reliefs of rectangles and circles. A moulded cornice runs across the front of the building. Nos 1 to 10 Sidmouth Street form a group.
