Description
14 Monday Market Street is an early 19th-century building with a symmetrical front and timber framing. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick on a projecting stone plinth. There is a stone sill course at the first floor level and a low-pitched gable end slate roof. The building features three windows on the second floor, with the center window being blind. The other two are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, fluted surrounds, and roundel corner blocks.
On the ground floor, there is an original shop window on the right side consisting of three large panes, while a sash window is located to the left. Both windows have slightly cambered heads with flat gauged brick arches and block sills. The central door is recessed and has two flush panels and two blocked panels, topped by a blind semi-circular fanlight and a gauged brick arch above. Timber framing and brackets are visible on the side wall, which leads to the passageway of No 13 Monday Market Street.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos 6 to 19, which are consecutive.
