Description

Nos. 7 and 8, Sidmouth Street, are a late 18th-century building of three storeys and red brick construction, similar in appearance to No. 2 Sidmouth Street. The building features stone sill courses at the first and second floors, a stone dentil cornice, and a low parapet with coping. It has seven windows; two are false on the second floor, and four are false on the first floor. The windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars. The ground floor currently has early 20th-century and late 19th-century shop fronts. However, the original doorway between Nos. 7 and 8 remains, featuring a plank door, a blind semi-circular fanlight, and a red brick arch. Nos. 1 to 10 form a notable architectural group.
