Description
This milestone, located approximately 320 meters north of Knighton crossroads, dates from after 1814 and was reset in the later 19th century. It is made of painted sarsen stone and features a half cylindrical shaft that returns to a square shape at the base. The original incised inscription is now illegible and has been overpainted with legends indicating distances: to Swindon 12 miles on the left and to Hungerford 5 miles on the right. The base of the milestone is currently overgrown.
