Description

This milestone, located on Ogbourne Maisey Down, is approximately 1 mile north of the Old Eagle. It dates from around 1762 and marks the old Swindon to Marlborough turnpike. The milestone is made of sarsen stone and features a triangular-shaped shaft with a grooved top and a square base. The legends on the milestone are incised but mostly illegible.
