Description
The stables at Rockley Manor are a stable building from the 18th century, currently used as loose boxes. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding set on sarsen stone sills, topped with a thatched roof. The building consists of four bays with framing that is two panels high. It features tie beam trusses with curved braces connecting to the posts and raking struts supporting the principals. There are high collar beams and two purlins, and the roof is half-hipped at both ends. Inside, there are two internal partitions reaching 2 meters high, and the walls are lined with boarding. The doors are ledged, braced, and battened, and there are high leaded windows.
