Description

Brookside is a detached cottage dating to the 17th century, with later alterations. The exterior is whitewashed flint and brick, originally enclosing timber framing. It has a thatched roof. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and consists of three bays. An entrance is centrally located in the third bay, leading into a living room. A brick stack is positioned to the left of the first bay. The front features a boarded door and two-plate glass bay windows in the first and second bays, all sheltered by a continuous tiled roof supported on timber posts. A three-light casement window is situated to the right of the door. There are three dormers, each with three lights. Timber framing is visible in both gables. The roof is hipped on the left side and half-hipped on the right, with a brick stack. A 20th-century rear wing extends behind the first bay, featuring a tiled roof and a first-floor bay window.
