Description
The Boot is a pair of cottages that were once an alehouse, dating from the 16th to 17th century. The building is timber framed and clad in painted brickwork with some flint, topped with a thatched roof. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of six bays across one side. The door positions have been altered, and there is now a 20th-century oak door leading to the stair hall at the rear of the main stack. The building features end lean-tos and small paned windows with false shutters on the ground floor. The thatch extends over two flush dormers and is hipped over the end lean-tos. There is also a cart shed on the right side. Inside, the property has chamfered spine beams with diamond stops and an ovolo moulding on the main firebeam.
