Description

The Cedars is an 18th-century house, rendered in stucco, with a later parallel block added around 1800 constructed of brick with a distinctive vitrified vertical patterning. It has slate roofs. The house is two storeys high, with attics and cellars, and originally comprised four bays, with a central hall in the later section leading to a staircase in the original build. The south elevation is symmetrical around the central front door, although a contemporary bay was added to the right. The front door is made up of six panels, featuring an elaborate fanlight above. Large, two-storey bow windows contain twelve-pane sash windows, each with a gauged brick lintel. Wide eaves are a prominent feature. Inside, the drawing room located to the left of the hall contains a cornice, a central plaster medallion, and a marble fireplace.
