Description

No 2 High Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with vitrified quoins and bands at floor level, topped by a tiled roof. The building is two stories high and originally consisted of three bays with a central stair hall, but a fourth bay was added to the left in the later 19th century. The entrance features a six-panel door with a bracketed canopy above it. The windows are casement style, with an upper fixed light set within segmental gauged brick lintels. There is an oculus above the door, and the bay to the left includes early 20th-century arch-headed lights. The eaves are decorated with brick dentils, and a stack has been removed.
