Description
No 7, also known as Hillsborough, is a house that originated as two cottages from the 17th to 18th century. The building features a timber frame with brick facing on flint sills and is topped with a thatched roof. It is one storey high with an attic, consisting of two main bays and an additional half bay on the left. There is a central stack, and the left room was formerly a cobbler's shop. The entrance door is half glazed, while the 19th-century shop window has a bracketed hood and four arched lights set on columnar glazing bars. The right bay includes a six-panel door and a 19th-century four-pane sash window. The left half bay has a window with shutters. The house has three flush dormers featuring leaded lights and old glass, with the thatch sweeping over the dormers and hipped to the left. The flue of the stack is constructed in 50mm brickwork, and there are 20th-century rear extensions.
