Description

Vine Cottage is a house formed from three cottages originally built in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is located in Union Street, Ramsbury. The house is constructed of flint and brick, with a thatched roof. It is one storey high, with an attic. Originally six bays wide, the central bays (4 and 5) formed the original building. These bays are flint with brick banding and quoins, while bay 3 has been added to the left, using timber framing. Bays 1 and 2 appear to have been separate cottages originally. A brick-faced extension dating to the 18th century was added to bay 6, along with a single bay rear wing. Chimneys are located between bays 2 and 3, between bays 3 and 4, and on the street gable. The thatched roof is swept low over an outshut.
