Description
Whittonditch House is a detached farmhouse located on a bank, built around 1830. It features snapped header bond blue brickwork with red brick dressings and has a tiled roof. The building is two stories high with a cellar and has a symmetrical elevation consisting of three by two bays. The central brick porch, which may have been added in the 19th century, includes a four-panelled glazed door topped with a round gauged brick head, along with brick dentils and a cornice. The windows are 12-pane sashes with original crown glass and partially concealed boxes, complemented by scalloped blind boxes. The house also showcases fine gauged brick wedge lintels and a plat band, open eaves, and a hipped roof. There are stacks situated between the front and rear rooms. At the rear, there is a two-bay wing constructed of flint and brick, featuring a side entrance under a hipped tiled porch and 12-pane sashes, one of which was replaced in the 20th century.
