Description
The building is a barn and attached stable range located to the west of Ivy House Farmhouse in Sopworth. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from squared and coursed rubble, featuring dressed stone at the midstrey jambs, wooden lintels, plank doors, and gates, all topped with stone slate roofs. The barn has a cruciform layout with midstreys on the east and west sides, while the stable range is set at right angles, creating an L-shaped complex. The midstreys have hipped roofs, and there is a lean-to shed to the left of the east midstrey, along with a hipped roof at the eastern end of the stable range. Inside, the structure has a through-purlin, tie-beam roof with king posts.
