Description

The barn at Luckley Farm, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a projecting hipped cart entry on its east side, with lean-tos on either side, and a hipped entry on the west side. It has an 8-bay roof supported by king-post and angle-strut trusses, and the inner arches of the cart entries are made of timber lintels with relieving arches above. Graffiti on the building dates to 1826 and 1830. At the south end, there is a taller cart-shed and loft, flanked by outbuildings. The cart-shed features two cambered arches, and the upper floor has a gabled roof with a window and door, accessed by outside steps. To the right, there is a range with Bridgwater tiles, which includes a ground floor door and window, as well as an upper loading door that breaks the eaves to the left. To the left, there is an L-plan stable and loft range, which also has a loading door breaking the eaves to the right, a gable floor window, and two doors, along with a projecting wing that has an east side door and a half-hipped south gable.
