Description

Targetts Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and features a thatched roof with half-hips on both the right and left sides, along with axial and gable end brick stacks. The layout includes a through passage leading to the rear of the stack. The building is single-storey with an attic and has two windows. There is a six-panelled door with a thatched canopy located to the left of the centre, flanked by two-light casements, one of which has a hoodmould. In the attic, there is a large eyebrow dormer that contains two two-light casements.

The left return wall is made of rubble stone and features a four-panelled door within a 19th-century porch, which is part of a single-storey range of kitchen and outbuildings attached to the rear of the house. The right return has a two-light casement on the first floor. The rear of the farmhouse includes planked doors and two-light casements. Inside, the property showcases deep chamfered beams with exposed joists, as well as an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel featuring curved corners on stone jambs.
