Description

This milestone, located on the south side of the A361 Devizes Road, approximately 17 meters west of Summerham Bridge, dates from the early 19th century. It has a cast iron triangular-plan front, with the name 'Burt Devizes' marked on the foot. The left side indicates 'Bath', the right side shows 'Devizes', and the flat gabled top is marked 'London'. Distances to these locations are painted on the milestone.
