Description
Egypt Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the mid to late 18th century, constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof that is hipped at the northwest angle. The building features an axial ridge stack and a south end stack on the front range, along with an east end stack on the rear wing. It is two storeys tall with an attic and has an L-plan layout.
The front of the farmhouse includes two hipped dormers, flush quoins, and a raised string course that changes profile to a drip mould to the right of the stack, indicating that the two right bays are likely earlier in date. The windows are cyma-moulded flush mullions, with two three-light windows on each floor to the right, followed by a door set in a raised moulded surround with a hood supported by brackets, and one three-light window on each floor to the left. The north wall is made of rubble stone and features a pair of casement windows, a triple casement above, and a two-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window with a door below.
