Description

Moiety Manor is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, constructed with a timber frame and painted brick, topped with Bridgwater tile roofs. The building has two storeys and features a ridge stack and an east end stack on the main range. The north front includes a flush crosswing gable on the right and a rubble stone plinth. The crosswing has one curved angle brace, a pair of casement windows on the first floor, and a painted brick ground floor with a 20th-century window. The main range has three windows, with a pair of opposed angle braces, casement pairs above, and 20th-century leaded windows flanking a 20th-century French window below. To the left, there is a rubble stone addition with two 20th-century cross windows and a pantiled roof. The crosswing has a lean-to on the west side and an L-plan single-storey range of former stalls beyond, mostly infilled, with the part adjoining the house converted. At the rear, there are various windows, including one 17th-century stone mullion window with an ovolo moulding on the first floor right, and a ground floor door to the right of the stack in a raised moulded ashlar surround with a hood on brackets. Inside, the rubble stone east end addition features a 16th-century Tudor-arched fireplace, which is said to have been moved from an adjoining room, along with heavy chamfered beams and some windbracing in the roof.
