Description
The White House is a house built in the late 18th century, featuring roughcast exterior on a brick structure with a Bridgwater tile roof, coped gables, and end stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range of cyma-moulded flush mullion windows that include small-paned lights. There are three-light windows on each side, with a central sash window above a four-panel door that is set in a raised moulded surround and topped with a hood supported by brackets. The painted brick end walls display flush quoins. Attached to the south is a rubble stone outbuilding with a pantiled roof that is half-hipped to the south. This house may have been owned by H. Scott, who was mentioned in relation to the construction of the canal in 1797.
