Description
Berhills Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1800. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile half-hipped roof and a ridge stack. The end and rear walls are made of rubble stone. The building has two storeys and an attic. The front features an ashlar plinth and two string courses, with raised brick eaves and a two-window range of 4-pane sashes that have gauged brick heads and stone sills. There is a door to the right in a flush ashlar surround with a hood supported by brackets. At the rear, there is a rubble stone lean-to that was raised in the 20th century. The interior is not of special interest, as the stair has been rebuilt. The roof was re-raftered in the 1930s but still retains the original principal rafters and staggered purlins.
