Description
This is a milestone from the early 19th century, located about 50 meters north of the driveway to The Woods on Potterne Road. The milestone has a triangular cast-iron front, which is marked with "Lavington 5" on the left side, "Devizes 1" on the right side, and "Sarum 23" on the flat gabled top. The foot of the milestone is presumed to be marked "Burt Devizes," but this is not visible.
